Dear Juno, The level of idiocy shown in your acts is unfathomable. How can you (and apparently a lot of your school) be perfectly okay with having sex just because you couldn’t think of anything better to do? I know that at the end Paulie points out that it wasn’t out of boredom but that’s what you claimed as your defense so I just want to ask how is that even logical? I don’t know about the rest of my classmates but being bored and then trying to bring another human seems like quite the jump to me; also it’s a very flawed defense because you told your best friend that you had wanted to have sex with Paulie since the previous year. If this was the case why didn’t you attempt to obtain some protection? Was it solely so you could use your crappy defense? Because that’s just ridiculous. You had an entire year to prepare and you never thought “Maybe I should pick up some protection at the store” that seems highly unlikely and very irresponsible. Some could say that you actually wanted everything to happen to you the way it did. Also you must have known of the various ways to prevent a pregnancy because you seemed to know exactly how to abort a baby once you were pregnant. It also seems very irresponsible to me that you would have had sex in the first place when you knew you weren’t ready; you knew what could happen and you didn’t take any precautions to prevent it and it just makes me wonder just what kind of idiot you are. I am not going to say that you made the best of a terrible situation because under the proper conditions it is the most wonderful situation a human being can be in. I will say that you made the right choice (in my opinion) in giving the baby to Vanessa to raise instead of trying to raise it yourself, because at that point in your life I do not believe that you could have given the baby everything that Vanessa could. While this choice was a good decision I do not believe that the decision that forced you to have a baby in the first place was a good decision. I believe that you could have made different choices before and not have ended up getting pregnant at the age that you did. To start you could have just told Paulie how you felt from the start, you’re kind of a wuss for waiting so long. You also could have picked up some protection (I know I said that before). Finally you could have just waited until you were actually ready to raise a child. There may be some that claim that you are a hero and should be looked up to, I do not believe that is the case, as you may have picked up I am not a fan of what you did, now don’t take this as I believe you should be looked down on because I don’t. I believe that others should learn that having sex while you are unprepared for the possible outcome and without using any kind of protection can get them into your situation and that’s all.
